Amy brings more than 30 years of experience to her role as Chief Communications Officer at Freshwater Communication & Crisis Management.  Freshwater’s career includes 26 years with Carlson Restaurants Worldwide where she created and led the company’s award-winning global public relations, communication and crisis management program for over 20 years. 

In December 2010 Freshwater left Carlson, and in January 2011 started Freshwater Communication & Crisis Management where she works with business leaders across various industries to both protect their business through crisis management planning, and build momentum in local markets around the US through PR, social media and local marketing.  As a result of her leadership, Freshwater has a proven track record of partnering with clients to build their social influencer relationships through targeted research combined with the development of an ongoing PR, marketing and business strategy that incorporates traditional with out-of-the-box thinking.


In addition to leading Freshwater Communication & Crisis Management, Freshwater was tapped to become a partner with Breakthrough Talent Solutions, a consortium of consultants, where she heads up the crisis management, communication and public relations for their clients.


Throughout her career Freshwater has been recognized as an industry leader in communications and crisis management and has received numerous accolades for her work, including industry awards for top public relations campaigns, best in class crisis management program and recognition for development of a thorough pandemic plan years before the nation faced its first national emergency.
